Fill a suitably sized bowl around 80% full of fresh cold water, and add to salt to make a 2-3% saline solution. Then add 4-6 ice cubes before placing the frozen scallops in the cold saltwater for 4-5 minutes. Remove scallops and remove excess water using a paper towel, etc. The result will be as closs as possible to fresh-caught scallops.
